Beautiful Beaulieu

Today we went to Beaulieu Motor Museum as part of our topic on Transport. We had a very busy day!

One of our favourite parts of the day was the monorail. It is a high, mile long single rail, which takes a circuit around Beaulieu's beautiful grounds. Although it was high, we felt safe and were very sensible. Here are some of us on our monorail trip!

So much fun!

We all went around the motor museum with a guide. The children learnt about many different cars, some were fast, some were slow. It was particularly exciting to see the fast Formula 1 cars! They got to learn many interesting facts and have a close up look at transport.

Here we are on an old bus!

We found Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

After they had finished going around the museum, the children went into 'Wheels'. They sat in a pod, with a bar keeping them safe and took a journey through the history of motoring.

We experienced driving in a very cool car! It was so old fashioned that it didn't have any seatbelts! Every child got to sit in the back, with the adult in their group sitting in the passenger seat in the front. It was so fun!

Here we are waiting patiently for our turn!

We got to go around the World of Top Gear and look at all kinds of cars that they have used. Many were very interesting and lots were damaged! We had a game of I-Spy to play, thanks to Miss Edwards and the wonderful photos she had taken for us.

Towards the end of the day, we got to go on the Veteran Bus. This took us around in a circuit. It was open top which was very exciting! We had to make sure we sat down though.

Miss Howse, Miss Edwards and Miss Moffat were all very pleased with how well the children behaved. They were a credit to our school. A massive thank you to our parent helpers and teaching assistants for their support. We couldn't have done it without you.  Look our for more photos coming soon!
