Amazing listening in Music lessons!

In music this half term we are focusing on listening with concentration and understanding to a range of high-quality live and recorded music.

The children listened to pieces of music (without any videos, concentrating on their listening!) They gave their opinion about how it made them feel. Our phase had such fantastic comments that we just had to share some!

The Arrival Of The Queen Of Sheba

Florence- 'It made me feel like I had time travelled because it was quite old music.'

Oscar C- 'It went really fast, it made me move faster.'

Helen- 'It makes me feel like I'm at a ball.'

Ryan- 'People might be dancing!'

Connie- 'It's quite jolly!'

Thomas E- 'It's classical, I liked it!'

Shake It Off

Within the first few beats, the majority of the children recognised this song!

Seren- 'I like it because it is upbeat!'

Thomas M- 'It's really funky!'

Ben- 'It makes me feel cool, like I should be wearing sunglasses!'

Daisy- 'It made me really excited!'

Mackenzie- 'It made me want to move around!'

Zoe- 'The song made me excited. It's one of my favourites!'

The Blue Danube Waltz

Anna- 'This made me relaxed but then a little excited!'

Monty- 'It made me feel calm.'

Alfie- 'The slow bit made me sad.'

Madeleine- 'I didn't like listening to it, it made me angry!'

Connie- 'It made me feel sad and peaceful but then it turned to joyful!'

Eren- 'It made me happy and sad.'

Well done to all our of Phase for careful listening and very interesting and thoughtful opinions of the music they heard!
