We have been looking at the story of Cinderella in Science as part of our topic on Materials. Cinderella asked whether we could design a mop for her, so we had to investigate which material would be best! We experimented with foil, bubble wrap, paper, fabric, cloth, paper towels and newspaper to decide which one would be best.
We used pipettes to put some water onto the table to test with our mops! The children soon learnt which material was the most absorbent. Quite a few children decided that whilst the paper towels did absorb the water, when they got too soggy they tore!
